Handpan info:

The handpan is a percussion instrument similar to an inverted Jamaican Steel Drum that’s played with the hands. The instrument was invented in the year 2007 (as a modification of the Hang).  The handpan is made of 2 thin sheets of steel which have been convexed  by pneumatic hammer and then shaped and tuned by hand and then nitrated or heat treated to prevent rust from forming. A sound port is cut at the bottom of the handpan and the two convexed shells are fused together using adhesive. The instrument is hollow and can be played resting on the lap.
